Cafeteria Pricing
The 24-25 student lunch price is $3.45; reduced lunch will not be charged. Students eligible for free meals through the direct certification process will receive a Notice of Direct Certification mailed to their parent or guardian. If your family did not receive a Notice of Direct Certification, an Application for Free and Reduced Meals may be completed and returned to the Business Office at BAVTS. For free and reduced lunch status, the previous school year status expires 30 serving days after the beginning of the new school year. Payment for student’s cafeteria account may be made with the cafeteria cashier or the Business Office.
Applications may be sent back to school with your student, where they will be sent to Business Office for processing or you may send or bring a completed application to:

Summer Food Service
The Summer Food Service Program — Free Meals for Children in the Summer (SFSP) offers free, nutritious meals to children 18 years and younger during the summer when school is not in session. SFSP is a federal child nutrition program. There are approximately 2500 locations throughout Pennsylvania that serve breakfast, lunch and /or snacks. Many of the locations provide activities as well.

School Wellness Policy
BAVTS School Wellness Policy 246 is provided to inform the public, including parents/guardians, students, and others in the community about the contents and implementation of this policy. BAVTS recognizes that student wellness and proper nutrition are related to students’ physical well-being, growth, development and readiness to learn.

Wellness Committee
The Wellness Committee serves as an advisory committee regarding student health issues and shall be responsible for developing, implementing and periodically reviewing and updating a School Wellness policy that complies with law to recommend to the Joint Operating Committee for adoption.
The Wellness Committee shall review and consider evidence-based strategies and techniques in establishing goals for nutrition education and promotion, physical activity and other school based activities that promote student wellness as part of the policy development and revision process.
It is anticipated that the Wellness Committee will meet once per year; additional meetings may be scheduled at the request of the committee.
